During the academic year, October through June, meetings are held at The Charles Sumner School, which is located at 1201 17th Street (17th and M Streets), N.W., in Washington, D.C., directly across the street from the National Geographic Society.

Parking
Metered street parking is available after 6:30 p.m. along M Street and 17th Street; however, it quickly fills and is usually scarce by 6:45.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Meeting Location (July-Sep)

 

In July, August, and September, meetings are held at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Services Center located on Edgemoor Lane, Bethesda, Maryland. Doors open at 6:30. Lecture begins at 7:00 PM. Pre-meeting refreshments are not served at this location.
 

DIRECTIONS

 

By Metro:
Take the Red line to the Bethesda Metro station. Take the long escalator to the bus bay level and then the escalator by the cascading fountain up to the plaza level. Turn left. Keep the Food Court on your left and walk up seven steps next to the red-painted railing. Walking straight ahead and then to the right, cross the pedestrian bridge with blue/green-painted ironwork. At the end of the bridge, follow the signs on your right to the "B-CC Center" entrance.
 

From Virginia:
Take I-495 past I-270 to exit 36. Go south on MD-187/Old Georgetown Road toward downtown Bethesda. At Woodmont Avenue (Crown gas station on the right) turn right.
 

From I-270 South:
Take the split east towards Silver Spring/College Park. Do not merge onto I-495. Follow sign to MD-355/Rockville Pike south toward Bethesda. Immediately after passing National Institutes of Health campus veer to the right onto Woodmont Avenue (this street is parallel to Wisconsin Avenue). Approximately one mile later you will cross over Old Georgetown Pike (Crown gas Station on the right).
 

From I-495 from the east:
Take exit 34, MD-355/Rockville Pike South toward Bethesda. Immediately after passing National Institutes of Health campus (on the right) veer to the right onto Woodmont Avenue (this street is parallel to Wisconsin Avenue). Approximate one mile later you will cross over Old Georgetown Pike (Crown gas Station on the right. 

From Connecticut Avenue or East West Highway/MD-410:
Take MD-410 west toward Bethesda. Stay to the right at Wisconsin Avenue/MD-355 and continue onto Old Georgetown Road. At the second traffic light (just before Crown gas station) be in left lane and turn left onto Woodmont Avenue.
 

PARKING

The entrance to the parking garage is marked with a large blue and white "Bethesda Center" parking sign. Note signs marked "B-CC Center" will direct you into the parking garage and from garage elevators to the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Services Center building entrance on the Plaza level. Take the elevators or stairs from the garage. In the elevator, push the "P" button to get to the Plaza level. Parking is metered.
