Pre-Columbian Society of Washington DC

The Pre-Columbian Society of Washington, D.C. (PCSWDC), is an educational organization dedicated to furthering knowledge and understanding of the peoples of the Americas before the time of Columbus. Founded in 1993, the Society provides a forum for the exchange of information regarding these pre-Columbian cultures between academic professionals and interested members of the public.

SYMPOSIUM OVERVIEW

Have you ever wondered who were the first people to reach the American continents? Where did they come from? How did they get here? When did they arrive? Join our panel of experts as we explore these questions. Learn about the current scientific thinking as well as the long standing debates regarding the peopling of the Americas. Our daylong symposium is designed to excite both the interested amateur and the thoughtful professional in the field. Our Ice Age specialists and the titles of their talks are shown below.

This one-day symposium will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2017. The meeting begins promptly at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 5:45 p.m. Doors open at 8:15 a.m.
